My story starts at an architecture class at the back of Burdine Hall with Dr. Speck giving a lecture on the use of space in buildings. It sparked a curiosity of what goes into building a space for humans. Although I left the university without a degree, I knew I still wanted to create spaces that were comforting and intuitive. These things would elevate a room without being too flashy or gilded, function with form.
My goal is to build items that enhance a room, while being durable enough for everyday use. Too many products these days are produced with a lifespan in mind, and I believe those designs will be detrimental to our end users as well as the environment at large. No more disposable products that cannot hold up to regular use, leading you to discard them as soon as you move or redecorate. My products are able to withstand life’s transitions, timeless with a soft comforting glow, just like a Firefly.
